Damn, I hadn’t used these Hexanon lenses in so long I’d forgotten how much character they have. Can’t wait t o actually get out in some real light and give this thing a proper test.
What I bought.
What’s currently equipped
I bought this camera used and it seems the battery is shot. It seems to show a different percentage every time I start the camera up and will drain by 30% just from ten minutes of flipping through menus. Hopefully the new battery I ordered solves this.

I used to have a H exanon 50mm f/1.7 on my Sony a7. The focus was smooth although very resistant. It was like turning molasses. I loved how smooth the focus was. The colors were magical on that thing.
Here are some of my favorites. Came out of the camera just like that. The focus is slightly off on the car pics since I was with some friends and they weren’t into cars. I had to rush to snap the pictures. The parked Jag was taken from a car moving 30mph.

Yeah, the stiff focus ring seems to be endemic to He xanon lenses. Both of mine are like that. It makes quick adjustments difficult but also makes it real easy to dial it in.
